AI for business · Aberdeenshire & North East Scotland

It stops being an assistant. It starts being an office.

An AI agent that works with your real files, your real systems and the way your business already runs. Not a chatbot bolted onto your website, and not an assistant that answers questions. It takes on the everyday work, not just the jobs nobody wants.

A terminal window showing an AI agent working through an invoice chasing task: reading an accounts export, matching overdue accounts, drafting one email per client and saving them for review, with nothing sent automatically.

An agent, mid-jobThis is what one actually looks like working: reading, deciding, and doing the task, rather than answering a question and stopping.

What an agent actually is

The difference between answering and doing

A chatbot answers a question and stops. An agent is given a job and finishes it: reads the email, pulls the details, drafts the quote, files it in the right place and tells you it is done. That gap is the whole point, and it is why most of what gets sold as “AI for business” disappoints.

Most people assume that means the jobs nobody wants. Quotes retyped from scratch every time. Invoices nobody chases. Job sheets copied between three systems. Data entered twice because two bits of software refuse to speak to each other. It does all of that, and it is usually the right place to start, because the saving shows up in the first week.

But that is the starting point, not the limit, and it is the part most people miss. The same agent drafts the document you were going to write, digs out what a decision needs, checks its own work against your rules and files the result where it belongs. Ordinary work. The kind that fills an ordinary day.

Once enough of it is running, it stops being a tool you use and starts being closer to a second office working alongside the one you already have. It does not replace anybody in it. It means there is more of you to go round.

I am not selling this as theory. Weightman Digital already runs on it. Client detail stays straight across sessions without me re-explaining myself, work gets prepared and filed correctly without me doing it by hand, and the routine admin that used to eat an evening a week now arrives done and waiting to be checked. If it can run parts of my business, it can run parts of yours.

  • Free discovery call first. A plain-English answer, not a demo booking.
  • Real, readable code you or any other developer can change or take elsewhere.
  • Scoped to something that is genuinely costing you time, and built to grow from there.
The straight answer
What it costs

Scoped after a free call

It depends entirely on what is being built and how much time it saves. Every project starts with a free call so you get a specific figure rather than a price list.

How long it takes

Agreed before we start

You get a scope and a timescale before any money changes hands, and small useful builds usually land a lot faster than people expect.

What you walk away with

Software you can read

Real, readable code and workflows. No black box, no platform lock-in and no subscription you cannot leave.

What the office actually does

Not just the jobs you hate. The everyday ones too.

The dull, repetitive job is usually the right place to start, because the saving is obvious from the first week. It is not where it stops. Once an agent knows how your business runs, it takes on the ordinary work as readily as the jobs nobody wants.

Quotes and estimates

A job description goes in, a properly formatted quote comes out, using your prices and your wording. The part most trades and service businesses put off until the evening.

Chasing what you are owed

Overdue invoices get followed up on a schedule, politely and consistently, without anyone having to feel awkward about it or remember to do it.

Getting information out of inboxes

Details buried in emails, forms and attachments pulled out and put where they belong, instead of being retyped into a spreadsheet by hand.

Joining up systems that will not talk

Most small offices run three or four bits of software that refuse to speak to each other, so a person becomes the integration. That is the job to automate first.

Drafting what you would have written

Replies, summaries, reports and documents, in your wording and your format, arriving ready to check rather than starting from a blank page.

Looking things up, and checking them

Pulling together what a decision actually needs, out of your own files and from outside, so the digging stops being a job you do yourself.

Nothing you cannot see

Readable code and workflows you, or any developer you hire later, can open up and change. You are not locked into a mystery system only I can touch.

Support as things change

Businesses move. The build gets adjusted as yours does, rather than quietly rotting the moment the invoice is paid.

Built by a person, not a platform

You explain the problem in plain English. I handle everything technical, and you get something that works rather than a manual to study.

“Neil was absolutely a true professional. He took a very poor video I gave him, and when I took his suggestions for improvement, he made it exceptional! He was easy to work with and his communication regarding issues that crop up were very understandable without a bunch of Tech speak complicating things.”

Where I work

Aberdeenshire based, working wherever you are

Weightman Digital works out of Oldmeldrum, so for businesses across Aberdeenshire and the North East a discovery call can happen across a table rather than over a video link. Inverurie, Ellon, Westhill, Aberdeen, Banchory and Peterhead are all easy runs.

That said, this kind of build is not really geographical. If the admin lives on a computer, the fix works the same wherever you are. The local part just makes the first conversation easier.

Questions people actually ask

AI questions, answered straight

What is the difference between this and a chatbot?
A chatbot answers a question and stops. An agent is given a job and completes it: reads the information, makes the decisions, does the task and reports back. That is why a chatbot on a website saves almost nobody any time, and an agent can take on a real part of the working day.
Do I need to understand AI or coding?
No. You explain the problem in plain English and I handle everything technical. What you get back is something that works, not a technical manual you have to study.
How much does a build cost?
It depends entirely on what is being built and how much time it saves you. Every project starts with a free discovery call so I can give you an honest, specific figure rather than a generic price list.
Will this replace my staff?
No. It adds capacity rather than removing people. It takes on the work nobody has time for, and the routine parts of the work they do have time for, so their day goes on the parts of the job that genuinely need a person. Nobody has ever told me their favourite part of the week was retyping a quote.
What happens if I want to move to another developer later?
You take the code with you. It is readable software rather than a proprietary platform, so nobody is holding your business hostage, including me.
Can you give a real example of it working?
Yes, my own. Weightman Digital runs on one. Client project detail stays straight across sessions without me re-explaining myself, work gets prepared and filed correctly without me doing it by hand, and the routine admin that used to eat an evening a week arrives done and waiting to be checked. If it can run parts of my business, it can run parts of yours.
Is my business data safe?
We agree upfront what the build is allowed to touch, and it only gets access to what the job actually needs. Anything sensitive stays where it already lives rather than being copied somewhere new.
Do you only work with Aberdeenshire businesses?
Most of my clients are in Aberdeenshire and North East Scotland, but this kind of build works wherever you are. The discovery call is the only part that benefits from being local, and it does not have to be. See website design and digital marketing for the rest of what I do.

Curious what an agent could take on in your business?

Ask, and you will get a straight answer, including when the answer is that it is not worth building yet.
